HDMI to SDI converter supported resolutions

PostMon Oct 12, 2015 7:23 am

Hi all,

Just wondering if the HDMI to SDI mini converters (as well as SDI to HDMI) supports computer resolutions such as 1280x800 (16:10 aspect ratio). The specs suggests it only supports the following:
"HDMI Format Support
625/25 PAL, 525/23.98 NTSC, 525/29.97 NTSC, 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, 1080i50, 1080i59.94, 1080i60, 1080p23.98, 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p29.97, 1080p30, 1080p50, 1080p59.94, 1080p60, 2048 x 1080p23.98, 2048 x 1080p24, 2048 x 1080p25."

Looking to use the Smart Videohub router as a room zone matrix for routing/splitting laptop HDMI inputs to projectors (the projectors would be 1280x800 native resolution)

Thank you!

No. The vast majority of all of the Blackmagic product only support the various broadcast television standards or the broadcast/film industry standards for 2k and 4k resolutions. In general, computer and projector screen specific resolutions are not supported. You'll need to adjust laptop resolutions to a 1920x1080 or 1280x720 output as listed on those specs, and adjust your projector as well to utilize most of their products. Also keep in mind that many of the products also only support component YUV, and not RGB.
