Help choosing the correct device

PostThu Aug 30, 2012 11:30 am

Hello,

I am a gamer and I am currently using Dxtory for capturing my games and also use Xsplit to broadcast live. I am quite new in this game capturing area.
Nevertheless I would like to replace Dxtory to capture my games but I don't know which capturing devices.
I play on my high end laptop Alienware Mx17, with USB 3.0 and HDMI output and input. However no thunderbolt. So basically I would like to play on my PC while a Balckmagic device captures my game and Xsplit broadcast it live.

Which devices could I buy to replace my Dxtory? and just in case, Do I need some kind of extra cables?

Thank you for any help.

Hello and welcome!

Sounds like one of our USB3 products would probably do what you want. Unfortunately we've had several user reported issues with the Alienware line of laptops with USB3. So unfortunately currently it doesn't work.

I wish I had better news.
