Intensity Pro 4K compatible Playback Player

PostTue Jul 05, 2016 12:32 pm

Hi,
Does anyone know of a player I can use to play my video files that is compatible with my Intensity Pro 4K?
I'm trying to output my videos to my projector through the Intensity card, but none of the usual culprits seem to work so far. Tried VLC, GOM player, PotPlayer, and many others, but, to my great disbelief, nothing gets output to my Intensity.
Everything works great when using Avid MC or Adobe Premiere/After Effects.

What gives?

Thanx

On the product page of the Intensity Pro 4k, you'll find a link titled 'Software'. Here you can find some of the applications that work with the card.

Hi,
Sorry, you don't understand my question:
I'm looking for a software media player (ala VLC, or Gom player, etc) that would take the video played and display it Full screen via the intensity pro hdmi out.
I'm not looking for a compatible NLE Editor (ala AVid, Premiere, AE, etc). My intensity runs fine with those but they're editors, not players.

Also, on the link your provided, apart from NLE editors, it says:
Intensity Pro 4K supports QuickTime on Mac, and WDM and DirectShow on Windows so you can capture high quality video straight into other audio or video applications so is compatible with virtually all software on Mac and Windows!

Note that they specify windows directshow and WDM compatibility but for CAPTURING, not playing back. On all the directshow players I have tried, the blackmagic is recognized as an Input device, but never as an output device, which is what is required to output my signal to an axternal monitor.

Is that clearer?
Thanx

Why not play back through premiere? If it works.

Well it just isn't practical. Having to create one project and load the corresponding video file just to be able to show the client the intermediate file is a hassle. Plus media players offer much more opions, like script based video effects etc.
Anyway, the question remains: is there any intensity compatible media player out there?

Give CasparCG a try. You get also a versatile character generator by this way ;-)

Thanx for the recommendation Thomas. I did "try" installing it, but it's far from being a turnkey process. Between servers, clients, config files and controlling app, I managed to get lost and never could get it to play anything :-(.

I found out that telestream Switch works with the intensity pro, but:
1) It's super expensive (only the pro version works with external output devices)
2) there seems to be a bug that makes the video play faster on the external device than, they do on tha pp monitor... The telestream team has been informed...

Hi Miky

Did you find a solution for your issue?

We are having the same issue where we need to play a content that is pushed into a capture card with a simple player such as VLC, but can't seem to make it work on Windows7/10 .

Please help!

Except Switch (which is decent) you have:

http://www.mtifilm.com/cortex-dit-v4 FREE
http://www.drastic.tv/productsmenu-56/v ... previewpro
Resolve FREE
ffmpeg-not user friendly, FREE
VLC has some support, but wasn't stable/finished last time I looked at it (months ago)
