play in out in the time line

how do i play in and out in the time line.
for example- i want to play from the middle of a clip to the middle of the third clip.
how do i do that?

There's not a lot of detail there. And typically this would be a question for the software manufacturer of whatever NLE you happen to be using. But for most NLE's you can set a work area of some sort and the playhead of the timeline will be limited to that range.

However each software is a bit different. So if you can let us know what you are using we might be able to get closer to giving you a good answer.
