Hi,

I am not only new to Black Magic, but also to MAC, so please help.

Black Magic Camera Utility installer on the disc which came with my new camera does not run and promps me that MAC OS X 10.6 or later is required. Currently my OS is Sierra 10.12.3, which seems to be a later/newer OS. Please advise. DaVinci Resolve installed just fine.

BR,
Steven Steyn

You need to download the latest version of the Camera updater/firmware for the camera you have. Note, the new FW 4.x are for Ursa Mini, so read the update notes to determine the latest version for the camera you just bought. Firmware is available from BM Support: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/suppor ... al-cameras

All (new) software will be in the Aplications folder or you can click the launchpad, (the icon with the rocket in it) during the installation you will notice often an virtual diskimage (dmg type) on the dektop, sometimes when this is not automated you have to drag the .app file yourselve to the Aplications folder, but with approved software things go smooth.
Sometimes there's also driver software/tool, in the "settings" app in the applications folder/launchpad.
When a app is running you will also see an icon of that app at the far right, you can drag that one to the left on the taskbar to create a shortcut from it.
Sofar i only have good experiences with the BMD software, but you do have to check hardware settings and the corresponding software (driver) settings in all cases, if they are the same, then it should be okay most of the time, i've got the Ultra Mini recorder and Intensity Shuttle, and got them working, they both give exellent results.
