Web Presenter Webcam input format only 640x480

Hi,

I have just received the new Web Presenter. Connecting to my pc it does register as a 'Blackmagic Web Presenter' webcam device. That seems correct.

When I start Flash Media Live Encoder, it finds the presenter video device. However the only input sizes available are '640x480' and '320x240'. This is not the expected 720p resolution.
What can be wrong why the 720p input size is not shown?

Thanks,

Xander

Sounds like an issue with "Flash Live Media". Does it supoirt 720p resolution, or is it a SD only? Which would explain the results you Re getting. The Web Presenter scales its output to match the streaming software and hardware bandwidth requirements.

I have used 720p or higher formats correctly with Flash Live Media and the Intensity Shuttle encoder. Unfortunately don't have that box with me to test.
We are planning to do live stream tomorrow. Does anyone have experience with Flash Live Media and can maybe point me to some settings?

I'm having the same problem. I've streamed 720p for 2 years now using fmle. a lot of video software requires fmle to be installed as a requirement of their streaming portion. I really hope bm doesn't put this off on adobe. I've used just about every bm card and adapters with fmle, from decklink cards to ultrastudio sdi. to intensity shuttle all have worked fine. wirecast doesn't work at all and with fmle only in sd , I don't think they really thought this product through when designing it. These are the two main streaming programs and this doesn't work with either. hope they fix it.

Any update here?

I'm looking at buying the BM Web Presenter for use with FMLE, but obviously will pass if input is scaled down to 480p.

I just tried it in fmle and used the 480p input and changed the output resolution to 1280 x 720 looked ok! no distortion or pixilation really weird. audio really bad makes this unusable they need to release the fix asap.

@Gary..wirecast is a known problem.. it is an issue with wirecast not supporting the right webcam driver shizzle. They are working on it. But don't say when they will releaseit..

Audio fix i agree on they already should have updated on that. As they had it working 2 weeks ago with the presentation of the New ursa mini pro. Which was streamed with the WP with New firmware..

Right Daniel, but BM might be working on adding audio input selection to the works also. But an interim release to fix overall audio quality would be nice.

I talked to telestream aka wirecast on the phone and that is correct they do know about the issue but they do not have any fix planned in the near future. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of all black magic devices and am very thankful for the work they've put into their products. I've built my entire company using their products. But in my opinion this one was released way to early. It doesn't really do anything they promised. only two buttons work with the panel. the sound problem makes this unusable. I have several fly packs and for streaming we currently use either the ultrastudio sdi and a extra laptop or pcie cards in a 1u rack computer to stream depending on the job both work great. this was promising in the fact that it supposedly down converts to 720p with good quality. less resources for a laptop. i've tried it with obs im getting the horizontal lines off and on from a single hd sdi source and the audio is horrible. their saying they have the fix but their not releasing it. My company streams multiple PPV live events every weekend across the U.S. this is something that I was really looking forward to (getting rid of the extra laptops) major disappointment. My 30 day return window is just about up cant really wait any longer to see if they actually have a fix. so far between the wp and the panel its just been a $600 paper weight.
