Hello everybody,

I am Leandro, newcomer on the forum. Glad to be among you.
I signed up because I recently acquired an ultrastudio blackmagic and a Sony FDR AX53 camcorder.

I connected the camcorder to the ultrastudio through a cable MICRO HDMI> HDMI. And the ultrastudio to a MacBook pro through a cable Thunderbolt.

My problem: I do not have a video signal in the express media.

I called Sony, who confirmed to me that their camera does not allow to make the video output live in HDMI.

Before returning the camera, I would like to know if any of you managed to make the HDMI output with this camera, or not? And if yes, how ?

If not, would you have a camera to propose me to use it to make live web conferences with a blackmagic ultrastudio?

Thank you a lot !

Dear Leandro,
I hope my answer is not too late....

So, I have just unpacked my new Sony FDR-AX53 and BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle.

And yes! - you CAN grab HDMI signal for live streaming:

It also works in OBS Studio:

If you need more details, please let me know.

Hi Goran,

could you please get back to me with details. I have tried to connect my Sony fdr ax 53. Now found out that I should purchase a BLACKMAGIC Thunderbolt Intensity Shuttle. Could you tell me how it works?

Best,
Vanessa
