I have inserted a few streams into my Production few months back using 4 RAspberry pi units..
Oke it is a bit difficult to setup if you don't have Linux knowlage. But the web is full of solutions how to playout rtsp streams on a RPi.
They are cheap. They are pretty stable.. hdmi output with settable resolution framerate.
The only thing Im missing is a webpage to enter the url and setup the resolution
Add a cheap hdmi to sdi converter behind it and you have a under 100 dollar playout per Channel.
The NVD-20 from datavideo is the above! It is a RPi with Some webserver running to do remote config.
The other way i do it sometimes is using a Yuan sdi videocard. 4x sdi output.
Running 4 instances of VLC player on that computer. Gives you 4x sdi output. The Card is 400 dollars.
