Software to output a webstream on SDI

PostSat May 20, 2017 6:10 am

Hi everyone!

I have a windows server running 2008 R2 with a Decklink Quad 2 installed. I am searching for software that is capable of taking a webstream (rtmp/rtsp) or flash/HTML5 player and outputting the video to the decklink. Ideally capable of outputting several streams simultaneously to take advantage of the decklink' multiple outputs.

Alternatively, a screen capture software that can output to a decklink,

Anyone know about something like this?

I've done something similar using ffmpeg + bmdtools with decent results. Unsure about the possibility to handle multiple streams on the same Decklink device though.

I have inserted a few streams into my Production few months back using 4 RAspberry pi units..

Oke it is a bit difficult to setup if you don't have Linux knowlage. But the web is full of solutions how to playout rtsp streams on a RPi.

They are cheap. They are pretty stable.. hdmi output with settable resolution framerate.
The only thing Im missing is a webpage to enter the url and setup the resolution

Add a cheap hdmi to sdi converter behind it and you have a under 100 dollar playout per Channel.

The NVD-20 from datavideo is the above! It is a RPi with Some webserver running to do remote config.

The other way i do it sometimes is using a Yuan sdi videocard. 4x sdi output.
Running 4 instances of VLC player on that computer. Gives you 4x sdi output. The Card is 400 dollars.
