Video Assist

Hi all,

Can anyone say for sure that the smaller Video Assist remove pull downs? I've seen some post regarding new firmware may support it, but before purchasing one I wanted to make sure. By the way I'm shooting with a C100 Mk1

No, as far as I know, and have experienced, the VA/5-inch model does not remove 3:2 pulldowns on SDI or HDMI inputs, the VA records the signal as interlaced. However you can remove the pull down with most NLEs. The VA does support PSF files via SDI only. So a 1080PsF24 feed via SDI, will record as 1080p24, the it is enabled on the VA's menus. The advantage of PSF over pull downs, is their is no quality loss in the recorded signal.
