Inaccurate battery reading on BMCC

PostTue Aug 01, 2017 6:07 pm

Hello. I just purchased a used BMCC.

Upon turning it on, I saw that the battery indicator read 25%.

I plugged it in and within seconds the battery indicator read 100%. I unplugged the power supply and the indicator dropped to 50% and then 25%, again within seconds.

Is this a known issue with the BMCC battery? Or might it mean that I should replace the battery?

Thank you,
Marko

There should be no trouble with the camera's battery based on this information.

Marko, my BMCC's battery reading behaves similar. When new the battery was be able to power the BMCC for around 90 minutes. Now after 4 years of normal battery degradation it might have ~75% of its original capacity. This means it should power your camera for a little of over an hour.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.
