Intensity Pro - strange HDMI 3D issue with camcorder

PostWed Aug 02, 2017 4:12 pm

Hello!

I am planning on doing livestreams with my Panasonic HDC-SD99 camcorder.
It's connected via HDMI but for some reason the Intensity Pro interprets/rearranges the regular 2D-1080p25 signal as a frame-packed (top/bottom) 3D signal.
How can I stop the card from doing that?

...Putting the Intensity Pro into 1080i50 fixed the double video problem but of course it results in unacceptable motion artefacts.

So this seems to be a common problem and nobody seems to know of a solution.

I have to say, I am getting really tired of the poorly coded, buggy Blackmagic drivers.

In order for others to provide guidance, you may want to mention the Desktop Video drivers you have installed.

10.7.1

Maybe it has something to do with progressive segmented frames.
Why is there no option in the driver to specificy whether the input is 1080p25 or 1080psf25?

I think if you uncheck the "1080PsF On" button it will take the signal as progressive. In the old control panel it was called something else.

PsF is not supported with the Intensity Pro so that would be the indicator of it not working.

Why, though?
Isn't it just the driver that needs to read the input in a different way?

The Intensity Pro and the updated 4K version do not have support for the PsF formats. The DeckLink cards do however. As for why they do not support PsF would most likely be due to the fact that we have other products that support it.
