Sony HDR-FX1E with HyperDeck Shuttle 2

Hey (first post)

I've got a Sony HDR-FX1E with a faulty tape deck. I don't really want to get it repaired and I was thinking the HyperDeck Shuttle 2 with mounting plate is exactly what I need How much of a pain in the ---- would it be to get it working with my FX1? If I got converters and things to go from Component so SDI would it record audio and what quality would I be getting

You could get an analog to SDI converter as well and it would allow you to embed two channels of audio to the SDI out with component video without issue. But you would have to provide it with power.
