updated my blackmagic cinema camera ef for the first time

PostTue Sep 19, 2017 7:05 am

Hello,

yesterday i upgraded my blackmagic cinema camera ef for the first time to 2.8.1

it seems like it has formatted the ssd harddisk which i filmed on, i am afraid i lost what was on the hard disk

is it possible that it formatted the hard disk without warning during the upgrade?

or is it because of the version change that i cannot see what i filmed?

help please

Doubt running a firmware update would reformat a drive. What camera are you using the EVF on?
Probably need to reset the EVF to match camera settings?

Arda, the last firmware with any updates for the Cinema Camera was 2.1 from 2015.
So no need to update.

If you cannot see in camera what you filmed it might be because the recording format was reset during the upgrade. The camera only shows whats on the SSD from the same format it is set to record.
For example:
If the SSD contains ProRes footage and the camera is set to RAW, it won't show any of the ProRes clips for playback and vice versa.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.
