hyperdeck studio 1080p60 problems

PostMon Sep 25, 2017 7:14 pm

Hi All,

I cant seem to make my hyperdeck studio 12G accept 1080P60 (even though the specs say it should!) over the SDI or hdmi

I have tried to find out what firmware is in it (but cant see how to do this) and also tried updating it to the latest FW by downloading and running hyperdeck set up 5.1 (which sees the deck on USB and allows me to change codec, trigger and timecode only) but it doesnt seem to update the deck - which is odd as it certainly isnt the latest fw... (well i assume it isnt as its many months old)

what am i doing wrong and will the latest FW enable the 1080P60?!

thanks

This "just works" for me over HDMI and SDI on my 12Gs. Might be time to contact support

Are you certain the source is a 1080p60 format? If it has an HDMI output, you can connect this to a TV and press the info button on the remote. This will tell you the format coming from the unit.

Hi Tony

Good point but yes I am as sure as I can be that its 1080P60, as I have another monitor in the chain (I'm using SDI although it doesn't work on hdmi either, as I did check this also) and this states the format when the signal is first received and the display locks up

Also, the source is set up to output 1080P60 (its a TV one)

Im sure the cabling is fine as I can set it down to P30 and it works fine. I can also feed it UHD and its fine then also.

Very weird fault!!

Do you happen to have another source, say like a camera, that you can connect to it and test if it's receiving that signal? As you didn't mention what the source is, can you be sure that there is no HDCP on that source output? If there is, the Hyperdeck will not be able to record/pass that signal.

Hi Tony

I didn't think that HDCP was a factor when using SDI? Also, when I change ONLY the frame rate of the source, it happily accepts p30...

I can try anther source (pretty sure I have tried a couple) but its certainly a good idea to rule it out!

Thanks

So the monitor does not give you an image on P60 either.,.. While working on P30.. What is the source ?? As it sounds your source does not send the right resolution or framerate..

Also could be a bandwidth problem with your cable! P30 is half the data so it's fine but when running P60 it crushes the EYE in your signal flow. Try another short HDMI cable. Also connect your source with that cable to a random TV and see if that works..
