Connecting a micro cinema camera to a desktop monitor

PostSat Oct 07, 2017 1:33 am

Hi to everyone,
I have recently purchased a Micro Cinema Camera and I have no display yet. I'm wondering if there is a way to use my apple cinema display as a monitor for my camera. I've tried to connect the camera to the monitor by the HDMI port but there was not signal and nothing has been showed.
How I could achieve that?

You can not connect the camera to a Apple display. You need to get a HDMI monitor, like, the new SmallHD monitor. The Apple Mac monitor is a computer display, different signal system (RGB), youmwould, need to out a video capture card or by x on the Mac to displayma video signal and the appropriate capture software.

Other Computer monitors with HDIM connectors may work. I have LG computer monitors, which display ATEM output correct.

Sorry, I'm no Mac-Boy ;-)

Normally, HDMI connectors at computers are outputs, no inputs.... For inputting, you will need HDMI capture cards like BM Mini Recorder.
