Ultrastudio SDI not recognized by vmix

PostThu Oct 12, 2017 3:20 pm

Hi All.

I'm running win10 and using vMIx.
I also have a DeckLink 4K Extreme

The Ultrastudio SDI is the small usb3 model that has REF IN, SDI IN, SDI OUT, HDMI OUT, REMOTE.

Nothing recognizes it...what gives?

Thanks.

Does it even show up installed in your hardware panel??

Does Media Express see the Ultrastudio?

I guess you don't have the official supported USB 3 chipset onboard (NEC / Renesas uPD720700 )
So working of the USB 3 products are not guarantied!!

There are people that get it to work but every computer and setup takes it's own fiddeling to get it working.

- Make sure that Power saving is off in the bios
- you run the latest USB drivers (or not.. ) (All depends on the USB chipset )

Thanks for the suggestions.

As an aside,
It seems as though the Decklink can only be used with 1 input at a time.
For example, if I had 2 sdi cameras, an hdmi input, and composite video all going in to the decklink, vMix can only see 1 of those.

Is that correct?

Depending on the model you have.. But yes most of the decklink cards and all Intensity products only support 1 input at a time.

The Decklink Duo and Decklink Quad are the only cards (to my memory) that support more then 1 source at 1 time.
