Intensity extreme problem

PostWed Nov 01, 2017 12:27 pm

Hello forum / support.

Having trouble with a purchased demo product. It's an Intensity extreme that does not work with any of my cameras.

My equipment:

Sony A7 s

Sony VG 900 E

Imac

Macbook pro

MacBook Air

Final cut pro x

Blackmagic Express

No signal output via thunderbolt or HDMI when I connect HDMI signal from any of the cameras.

HDMI signal directly from camera to HDMI monitor works ok.

Several cables have been tested without results.

Seems no support in Sweden

While the Intensity Extreme is a discontinued product. I had to search the specs on internet as they are not available on the website of BMD anymore.

Things to check>
  • Does it power from the Thunderbolt?
  • Do you see it listed somewhere in your mac as present?
  • Did you install Desktop video (this is a control panel for the the capture devices, Also installs the drivers.)
  • Did you install Media Express? (A capture software from BMD) and do you see it listed in this software?
  • Are you cameras outputing a resolution and framerate that is supported?

Supported Resolutions wrote:HDMI:
525 NTSC, 625 PAL, 720HD and 1080HD switchable

SD:
625i/50 PAL and 525i/59.94 NTSC

HD:
1080i50, 1080i59.94, 1080i60, 1080p23.98, 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p29.97, 1080p30, 720p50, 720p59.94 and 720p60

As you can see it only supports up to 1080P30 maximum. While your cameras will probably output 1080P50/60?! ;)
