Serial Port of DeckLink SDI 4K

Hi Y'all! First time poster on these forums, long time fan of BMD products!

I've installed a DeckLink SDI 4k and I notice it has a serial port. Am I able to send data through that COM port like I would if it were a port pre-installed on the PC?

For instance, sending scoring data from my Daktronics Controller?

I got my answer from BMD phone support. That port is rs422 for controlling some settings on the BMD card. NOT capable of running serial data.
