MacBook Pro to Micro HDMI-SDI to SDI-HDMI to Sony LED TV

Hi. I'm a new user and thought this would be simple and straightforward.

I'm running a MacBook Pro, Retina, Early 2015 on El Capitan 10.11.6.

Just purchased the MICRO HDMI to SDI AND MICRO SDI to HDMI converters from Blackmagic.

I've connected these with an HDMI cable to each component. I'm using a 100Ft SDI cable to connect the two converters. I have downloaded and run the firmware updates... I've double checked the order of all these components. I've also messed around with all the variations I can find on my computer.

PROBLEM: the TV blinks on and off, and the image it shows is grainy.

PLEASE HELP!

I would start with checking the output of your Macbook directly into the Sony - and see if that works.

And try it with a cable that is short. Also a lot of flikker and grain, pixeling issues can come from HDMI cables that are not healthy or up to the task.. So also check that.

Check on the SDI to HDMI micro if you see a steady LED or blinking LED at the SDI connector side.. ;)

If it is blinking grab another monitor and HDMI cable and see what happens. :P

To everyone, thanks for your help.

This was completely my fault. LESSON LEARNED: Never assume new cables are good and always try various cables before concluding there is a larger problem.

Basically, I was using a HDMI cable that for some reason didn't work. Changed the cable and the problem is gone.

Thanks to the Blackmagic Support team for their patience and to everyone who contributed!!!
