Trying to stream my cctv/DVR to facebook via ultrastudio

I have just bought an UltraStudio Mini Recorder blackmagicdesign.com/products/ultrastudio/techspecs#W-DLUS-04 to try and stream the hdmi from my ELEC 720P AHD Security Surveillance System elec.com/en/detail-40.aspx using OBS software

and I am having problems trying to get it to find the hdmi out put from the DVR could you tell me what type of stream is coming out of it? It works fine when I plug the hdmi from my DVR into my projector....

I think its just maybe a matter of changing the settings on the DVR...

just to be clear i want it to go

cctv -> dvr -> hdmi -> UltraStudio Mini Recorder -> thunderbolt -> Macbook pro -> OBS -> Facebook

as cctv -> dvr -> hdmi ->projector works...
and
7d SLR -> hdmi -> UltraStudio Mini Recorder -> thunderbolt -> Macbook pro -> OBS -> Facebook works

been trying all different settings... just tried the VGA out without success but I think that was due to my vga->hdmi convertor being kaput

also tried using the sdi instead of the hdmi did work either...

is there anything i could change here?

ive just managed to get it to work by running it through a Composite RCA Video (AV) + S-Video to HDMI Converter like this lenkeng.net/Index/detail/id/47 from the sdi out on the dvr

what does this mean? the dvr is obviously sending out a weird signal?

ill upload some photos of the dvr settings, perhaps there is something in there i could change?

There's a good chance your system is outputting a 1080p signal which the mini recorder can't ingest.

Put a decimator MD-HX between it to scale down to 1080i or 720P.
The Ultrastudio does not accept 1080P and your DVR monitor output is 1080P
