Mini Recorder Black / Can't open System Preference Pane

I'm trying to make sure my UltraStudio Mini Recorder is set to HDMI, not SDI, but I'm unable to open the system preference pane "Blackmagic Desktop Video". Currently all recordings are all black.

Suggestions on getting the pane to load and/or switching to HDMI more using terminal?

There is no switching between connections on the Mini Recorder. The first established connection with a signal recognized by the unit will be the primary. You'll need to disconnect the other source if you wish to change the source.
