Blackmagic Design Micro Converter SDI to HDMI problems

I'm using a Black Magic cinema camera and I want to view what I'm filming on a monitor. I got a Blackmagic Design Micro Converter SDI to HDMI . I ran a BNC cable to it and a HDMI cable from it to a monitor but I get no signal. Please help.

Which monitor, does it take 1080p24-30 signals? Some older monitors are interlace only and will not work with the BMCC unless you turn off overlays and send a clean signal, then the output looks like a 1080i signal to the monitor. Also check your cables, make sure they are working.

How long are both cable runs and does the SDI cable support a 3G signal? Also, does the TV/monitor support the same format the camera is outputting?
