Hi,
I'm considering to use a latop such like HP ZBOOK 17 G4 to be my color grading system after I checked the Dr15 Configuration Guide.
Hereis the hardware list in this doc:
Intel i7-7820HQ, 2.9Hz
64GB minimum system RAM
Nvidia Quardo P5000 with 16GB ram
1TB SSD system drive
https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-zbook-17-g4-mobile-workstation---customizable-z8x67av-mb
In fact, I need to upgrade the CPU to "Intel® Xeon® E3-1535M v6 processor+Intel® HD Graphics P630" and get the 64GB system RAM when I followed the configuration list to customize in the HP official order page, i7-7820HQ processor only up to 32GB RAM. Wow...It's totally way out of my budget.
What's the different will be when I do color grading in DaVinci Resolve 14 or 15 between Intel i7 and Xeon E3 CPU? Here is the Comparison https://ark.intel.com/compare/97496,97468
The biggest diffent I think is the Prcessor Graphics i7-7820HQ with HD Graphics 630 and Xeon E3-1535v6 with HD Graphics P630. And the Xeon CPU support ECC, i7-7820HQ don't.
Most of my working are HD/DCI-2K Apple Prores projects, I also wonder if the following configuration is good enough for my work:
i7-7820HQ/32GB RAM/NVIDIA Quardo P4000(8GB)/512GB SDD
Thanks for any HELP and SUGGESTION!!
