Editing Codec

PostWed Jun 06, 2018 12:20 pm

Hi, I'm brand new to Davinci Resolve (free version). Watched a Getting Started tutorial, and liked what I saw. However, while trying to import footage, it seems Resolve doesn't like the codec I used (Lagarith). So I'm wondering what are a few good codecs to use for editing in Resolve (I probably won't use proxies, as this is small time stuff and my files aren't too big)?

My clips are video game footage, so smaller resolution (160x144, 640x480 for example) which I resize in VirtualDub. That's were I compress the footage to Lagarith. I'm looking for another codec I can use in VirtualDub to compress that Resolve can work with. I've downloaded DNxHD and Cineform but they aren't working with VirtualDub.

H.264 should work fine if you have the option. I'm not familiar with VirtualDub.
