MSC4K on 24VDC?

All, I'm trying to run a MSC4K from a 24VDC supply through the expansion header. Why? I have 24VDC available. I could make 12VDC but would require an add'l; converter.
The camera does not power on when connected to the 24VDC, despite the claims that it will run from 9-30VDC. Notably, plugging in 24VDC does not appear to damage the camera, it just doesn't turn on. The camera works if plugged back into 12VDC.
Can anyone confirm that the camera should work on 24VDC?

The camera should run on 12v though I run them on 16-17v from a V-lock battery all the time. Where do you get 9-30v number? 30v seems like a lot and I'm pretty sure they drop out as soon as the voltage dips below 12v as well. While the Micro Cinema's power requirements are listed as 12-20v there is no mention of anything other than 12v for the micro4K.

Sorry, should have said 12-30VDC.
It's on the "Customization" page for the MSC4K under "External Power"
Notably, there's no spec given on the "Tech Specs" page.

From what you tell it sounds like an overvoltage protection kicks in to prevent damage. Or maybe reversed the voltage??

Sorry, as a new poster there's a lag while my posts get moderated.
AFAIK, the polarity is not reversed. I jury-rigged a 12VDC converter and the system worked as expected. Sounds like the simplest solution will be to switch to 12VDC.

Just for closure, I ended up swapping in a 12V DC power supply. No solutions re running on 24.
