I am new to video editing. I have tried to download resole 15 free version to my HP Pavilion laptop. However once open and some media files imported it quits for some reason and closes. any ideas why this might be?

What are the specs of your HP laptop...

For editing you need a beefy laptop / machine with enough memory, fast SSD / HDD and specific video card for rendering..

I got a HP Elitebook i7 from the latest series.. Win 10 with 16GB memory and a 240GB SSD.. The laptop barely runs Resolve..

only got 8GB memory. seems laptop not up to this particular software. shame because it felt good.
