No desktop video device detected

PostSat Aug 04, 2018 2:30 am

Hello everyone,
A newbie and very first post. As you can probably tell, I'm having issues with installation of my H.264 pro recorder.
The computer recognizes the device, the software (media express) also recognizes it. I've got the driver on a Asus Gl502vs. The unit is attatched via a usb cable (usb3 on computer). I've been searching and trying different things for hrs. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Tried different usb inputs on laptop.
What am I missing?

desperate and on verge of suicide! please help

So when you open Media Express and click on the log and capture tab, are you not seeing the image in the preview screen? Also, what is the source footage? If it's above HD quality content, it won't be seen by the H.264 Pro Recorder.

Thanks for the feedback Tony, I'll look into that.

Not a reply but a question-- I've been using media express for years without issue, and I used it as recently as yesterday. I haven't reconfigured anything. Today when I go to "capture", nothing happens, the screen remains black. Any ideas for troubleshooting? I've restarted and shut down my computer a bunch of times...Thanks for any help!

Have you tried a different USB cable? For it to suddenly not work, it's typically a cable issue but, if there is no light on near the power connection on the unit, it could be that either the power supply is bad or the unit has failed.
