I shoot primarily with a Sony NEX-FS100 35mm camera. It is capable of outputting a proprietary 8 bit RGB signal from it's HDMI port, but no recorders on the market that I know of currently support capturing this RGB format.
I was wondering if the upcoming Hyperdeck Studio Pro, which is coming out in October would be able to capture this 8 bit RGB signal, or at least be able to capture it as YUV 4:4:4.
I'm trying to avoid 4:2:2 chroma sub sampling, that's my main concern. I feel it'd be great for archival purposes on my shots.
I know the Hyperdeck Studio Pro supports 444, but I'm not sure if that means it also supports RGB. I also don't know if it supports 444 over HDMI, or if it is exclusively over SDI. I also don't know that it would support Sony's proprietary 8 bit RGB format. Any answers would be great, thanks.
