BM Video Assist HD 5" only works on 1080p50

Hi,

I'm using a BM Video Assist HD 5" with a Sony alpha7 III.

The monitor is automatically supposed to switch format according to the camera format, but when I set my camera on XAVC S HD 25p, the monitor still stay on 1080p50 Why ?

I tried to set HDMI output from the camera to Auto or 1080p but it doesn't change anything.

How can I record 1080p25 on my BM Video Assist ?

Check the camera output on a TV monitor, it may be outputting a 1080i50 signal, rather than a 1080p50 signal. If it is a 1080i50 signal, then the camera is doing a 2:2 Pulldown and converting the 1080p25 to an interlaced output or PsF output.

In this case, you can remove the Pulldown in your NLE (Resolve or Premiere/FCPX) and convert the file back to 1080p25. The VA has the ability to remove the Pulldown on SDI input also, not sure if this was ever added for HDMI signals, if so, it should be in the VA menus.

Brilliant Daniel, I was not thinking about the newer cameras with HDMI output control via the menus.
Dari, yiu need to go to the JDMi output menu and select 1080p25 as the output, then you should be able,t get your 1080p25 recording.
