4 ch HD Multicam capture options.

PostFri Feb 22, 2019 5:12 pm

I need to capture 4 simultaneous streams of embedded audio HD from ISO cameras for subsequent editing (looking to replace Pipelines). The old Decklink had a 4 ch option ISTR, but what options are there available with say the Ultra studio range?

Hanging 4 minis off 1 recorder is obviously physically doable but what about controlling them?

Get a Multiview 4 and a Hyperdeck Mini.
Put your 4 1080 feeds into the MV4 and output at 2160. Then record at 4K on the Hyperdeck.
The downside is that the 1080 extracted feeds will only be progressive.

You can also use a Teranex AV to realtime playback and see all 4 sources as separate feeds @1080, because it has simultaneous 4 way split outputs.

Now that's a novel approach. Don't know if 1080p will be acceptable but I can ask.....
Thanks..
