Decklink SDI: Supported codecs?

Sorry, but I'm confused... :?

I own a Decklink SDI 4k and read up on its specifications.
What does the following paragraph on its tech specs page [I'm not allowed to paste URLs(*) :(] mean?

Supported Codecs

AVC-Intra, AVCHD, Canon XF MPEG2, Digital SLR, DV-NTSC, DV-PAL, DVCPRO50, DVCPROHD, DPX, HDV, XDCAM EX, XDCAM HD, XDCAM HD422, DNxHR & DNxHD, Apple ProRes 4444, Apple ProRes 422 HQ, Apple ProRes 422, Apple ProRes LT, Apple ProRes 422 Proxy, Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2, Uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2, Uncompressed 10 bit 4:4:4.

It's an SDI-only card, and I thought SDI (at least SD) was always uncompressed.
What use cases are supported for these codecs? Playback, capture? And in which application?

Thanks for clearing that up for me :D

Those codecs can be used in any application that supports them. If you need information on which applications support those various codecs, you can look at the list on the tech spec page under Software Applications and check with the software manufacturer on their software and the support for various codecs.

Oh, so sorry! I just realized I never saw your message.

Of course, I know what a codec is and how it works :)
So you're confirming my assumption that the card does plain uncompressed SDI, and encoding/decoding is done by the software applications. Did I get that right?
