Hi,
My wife has two Macbook Pros 15" 2016 (the first model with touchbar) and uses a Blackmagic eGPU (not eGPU pro) for her LG Ultrafine 5k monitor. For the first few months all was well but for the last four weeks, her laptop (it happens to both laptops) keeps rebooting or freezing with a solid colour (yellow, red) or some other jumble visible on the monitor.
The issue does not happen when she bypasses the eGPU (but then the fan gets very loud).
The issue also happens when we use a 4K Benq IPS 30" monitor instead of the LG.
Could you advise? We can't find a firmware update for the eGPU. The laptops run the latest Mojave 10.14.4 and the issue appeared before the 10.14.4 update.
