DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G not detecting HDMI

PostThu May 09, 2019 9:44 am

Greetings,

I need some help quick and looking for some thoughts.

Here's my setup.
DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G
4 port HDMI switcher
Set Top Box

When the Set Top Box is connected to the switch the Decklink card does not detect HDMI.
STB --> Switch --> Decklink

If I remove the switch then the Decklink card detects video.
STB --> Decklink

If I instead hook a TV to the output of the switch I see video.
STB -->Switch -->TV

The problem seems to exist with the output of the switch to the input of the card.

What is the card looking for that it's not seeing?
Is there something the switch could be stripping out that the card needs in order to recognize the signal?
Maybe there is a power issue?

I use this same switch with a different Set Top Box and it works great.

Thanks in advance!
Ed

UPDATE: Switched HDMI cables and it's now all working.
Respectfully,
Ed

I'm even suprised you are able to ingest a settop box. Normally they do Apply HDCP protection. and this is something that is forbidden to capture from any HDMI capture card.
