There's no good reason to upscale it for delivery to youtube; hundreds if not thousands of people have been posting 1080p footage from the original BMPCC since 2013.
You can upscale using the "super scale" tool in Davinci Resolve but that's an extremely GPU-intensive operation and your computer had better be up for it. See page 228 of the Resolve 15 manual. Super scale has been improved in Resolve 16. But I still don't see any good reason to do it; my understanding is that it's mainly useful if the rest of your timeline is in 4K and you want to upscale some lower-resolution footage for a more consistent look, or if you want to zoom in on some 1080p footage without making it look grainy.
