Powering the BM6K pro and tilta nano II with the same vmount

PostWed May 15, 2024 7:04 pm

Hi! I'm researching if it is possible and safe to power the camera and the tilta nano II with the same vmount. I have a ZGCINE vmount battery, that has a dtap, that I use to power the camera, and USB-C, that I could use for the tilta nano motor. I haven't found anyone using this USB-C out to power the follow focus, only another dtap of a battery plate. Has anyone tried this? Is there any risks, like powering the monitor with the same battery as the camera?

If you use either a V or Gold Mount batteries you'll likely have some sort of battery plate attached to your rig. I use this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1643741-REG/smallrig_3204_v_mount_battery_adapter_plate.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A6879&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwupGyBhBBEiwA0UcqaJ7V-2L1Qb5yiSo2UXMMaGXA_k061IwcT_VtTyyaNlWnjr6az8_riRoCTF4QAvD_BwE

It's got one 14.8V D-Tap output, one 5V/2A USB output, one 8 VDC barrel output, and two 12 VDC barrel outputs around the sides of the plate. One of the things I really like about this plate is that it has a switch.

Additionally since I use Core batteries they have a single P-tap batter good to power 12V devices as well as a 5v USB port for cell phones and such. Many other batteries do the same.

You can see there are lots of power ports. Almost a power distribution center.

Shouldn't be a problem, the Tilta Nano II isn't drawing too much power. I've done this with a SWIT V-Mount battery.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.
