Rokinon/Samyang 20mm T1.9

PostSat Jun 24, 2017 1:17 am

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has tried Rokinon/Samyang 20mm T1.9 with the BMPC 4K (or other BM cameras). If yes, how do you feel about this lens in terms of sharpness, vignetting, distortion, etc in comparison with other lenses in the same price range (e.g. Samyang 16mm T2.2)?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have the 20mm T1.9 in my Samyang set (along with 16, 24, 35, 50 and 85mm). I haven't performed any scientific measurements but in my limited experience (only used it a few times since I added the 20mm) it matches the other Samyangs quite well. Since it's designed to cover fullframe/vistavision vignetting will not be an issue with any BM camera.

Rauno, thanks for the reply.

Could you give a rough comparison between 20mm/T1.9 and 16mm/T2.2 with regard to image quality? Is there any difference at all?

Sorry, I've been busy with work with not much time to spend online. No major differences I can recall but I'll try to shoot some tests and post the results.
