RAW BMCC Short, "STEP FORWARD" Entry In Virgin Media Shorts

PostFri Jul 26, 2013 1:11 am

I recently Shot a Short Film, "Step Forward" in RAW on my BMCC for entry into the Virgin Media Shorts Competition.

Please see:

http://www.virginmediashorts.co.uk/f...d#.UelCUqX-v8s

Note, this is a 720 upload, but we have a 2.5K Master.

If you like it please vote for it.

Apparently between July 22nd to the 28th, the eligible film that generates the most Twitter buzz will become the Lucky 13 shortlist entry. You can vote for a film directly on Twitter by stating the name of the film followed by #VMShortsVote, or via the Twitter 'share' option found underneath the film on the Virgin Media Shorts Web site. Twitter hashtags are the only way to vote for Lucky 13 this year.

Cheers,

Neil.

Nice work Neil! The ending really caught me by surprise! Nice, if not frightening twist! Did you build a custom set for this?

Thanks.

Yeah, I liked the ending when I read the Script - I was the DoP.

The set for this was Abbey Pumping Station just outside Leicester in the UK - it's an old Victorian Pumping Station, now a Museum. Think it used to pump sewage. Some digital effects and CG were added.

And if you liked it please vote.

The set is absolutely fabulous, a really great find that builds much of the atmosphere. Of course location is only the starting point, your achievement is what you made of it. Bravo!

Nice work, really well done and love the location / set too. Jon is a great actor, he was great in 'Dead Man's Lake' by Bloody Cuts.
