Perfect article on the situation. Even listening to the BM representative on JUL25 he sounded like he wanted to say september but kept reducing his estimates...why?? Just be honest or it will only annoy people more! There is no way BM will have the 4k in peoples hands in AUG!

A big fat thank-you to Marc Hood for his many months of holding BMD accountable to some standard of right business practices. I nominate him for the 2013 Feet-To-The-Fire Prize, the Nobel for movie gear forum commentary. Hell I hand it to him myself, why beat around the bush.

His latest posts, on this thread provide the explanation and motive for the "lack of communication" almost everyone complains of. It explains President Pretty's resort to near-English in his own past communications to this forum, followed now after long silence by piecemeal statements from unknown officials to outside personalities deposited here and there. All of these, going back to week zero, have exuded a big honk of optimism, serving to keep everyone in the tent, for a time. The ever-thickening fog has always concealed a bull-dog determination Not to provide real info, especially of existing pre-orders and of manufacturing capacity down there in Australia. Now it's now longer even clear what "production" means.

Her picture is gone under her name, and under her posts it says

yupp. confirmed.

If you look at her name at Linkedln it sais her current work is at a company called Relevant24 and that her blackmagic work was between sept 2012 - aug 2013.

So I think we need another lamb to get answers from now. Hopefully this lamb brings more to the table ;)

Question is:

Did she leave because she said too much? Or too less? Or maybe just because of reasons totally unrelated to this forum...?!

Dont know, but still. Would like one from Blackmagic to step in and answer some questions. Waiting for "Official statement from Blackmagic on new camera shipping" Bad or worse. I dont care. Just want a statement from them. We all want them to succeed. We all want their products. Cant help my self to browse through forums looking for second hand guesses. It would be cool to be let in to see how it goes. Are we 2-4 weeks or 2-3 months away. Now when/if Christina left, there really aren't any official statement left here but second hand guesses.

2-3 weeks was the official word from Dan May who is the President of BMD USA. It doesn't get any more official than that. If something else comes up, I'm sure we'll hear about it through someone from BMD.

Where did you order from? Safe Harbor has a few pockets in stock as far as I know. They ship internationally.

Ordered mine from Core Micro (coremicro.com) and they shipped within a week. You definitely shouldn't be waiting for one your ordered in July.

Seems to be mostly a Europe issue with the pockets now. Preordered mine in Germany after nab. But still nothing.

I'm in the Chicago area, pre-ordered my Pocket Camera in April and still have not received it.

I sent a follow up to the retailer just now and they said that they just started receiving them in small batches. :? I can hope that I'm near the top of the list and keep my order with AbelCine, or I can jump to B&H and get it in an estimated 2 weeks...if B&H is up to date on their arrival estimates.

Throwing this decision out to the masses... What would Blackmagic Community do? :?:

I've got big gigs coming up in February and I want time with the camera before that (doubtless, Christmas is a good time for that).

I have seen at least 3-4 posts in the past week indicating retailers who had the Pocket Camera in stock and ready to ship. Perhaps you should seek on some of those.
