BMCC Rental Question

PostSun Aug 04, 2013 8:59 am

Hello!

I wanted to know how many of you rent(ed) out your cameras on projects so far?

What did you include in your package?

Since the new price reduction, is it even worth putting up for rental?

If so, what seems like a realistic daily rate? week rate?

Cheers

Most people do not have full kit so to say and i think it is reasonable to have it also as rental but really depends on user.

Here what i can see with rentals are cheap users that just take the body but no one want to rent to them
and then there is pro users that take the whole set with assistant and minivan
with all the gear one would think of.

So if you have really good setup rental should be more probable.
At least this is the way i'm going.

I also like to have most complete setup myself.

I rented a 2nd one for a shoot.
It was $150 AU a day (or weekend in my case) which I think is a pretty good price. A couple other places charge $200 a day, and more over the weekend. In that kit was the camera, a redrock cage with rails, a SanDisc SSD (can't remember if it was a 240 or 480gb though) and a SDI/HDMI converter. I also hired a V-Lock kit which was an extra $40 I think for a V-Lock plate/power distributor and 4 batteriers. Barebones stuff, but it's all I needed.

In LA you can get a body, 2 batteries, and 2 512gb SSDs for $100/day.
