2k with rolling shutter

How good/bad is the rolling shutter on the 2k camera? I am really looking forward to the 4k Global Shutter.

I shoot a lot of aircraft (mainly helicopters) and rolling shutters and rotor blades, never seem to get along. I would love to see some test footage of something moving fast (like a car) to see how that 2k rolling shutter actually looks.. Is there any footage out there (even of anything)..

You're better off with the 4K camera then. The 2.5K cam's rolling shutter is basically the same as DSLRs.

I hate rolling shutter, too!

The BMCC rolling shutter isn't terrible (after all, the BMCC is being used to shoot many professional-level productions), and it's the same as many popular cams, such as the 5DM3.

However, certain subject matter (such as aircraft propellers) look like cr*p when shot with a rolling shutter cam!

So, although the BMCC is a great cam, especially now that it costs only $2K, I've got a BMPC-4K on pre-order:

definitely, i'd even argue that its worse than the 7d (at least more noticeable)

Yeah. I will get the 4K when it's available, but I may get the 2k as well, just to familiarize myself with it.. I'm sure it's going to be slightly better than my 5DII

is it worth buying? sure, but in terms of the rolling shutter it wont be an improvement on the mark 2 i assure you. hope this helps

How can it be no improvement? A global shutter has no RS issues whatsoever.
I just tested the Sony F55 and it's perfect. For anything involving propeller airplanes or helicopters, I'd definitely want a global shutter.

BTW, the BMPCC is a bit better than the GH2, but nothing to write home about.
