Can NiMH batteries power the BMCC?

Can we pack something like sixteen (or more) 1.2v/2.8AH NiMH rechargeable batteries and power the BMCC?

I don't see why not. I'd start with 10 batteries though, as i believe the camera was rated 12 volts? As far as i know it will accept higher voltage, but won't make use of it. The question is of course how long the batteries would last - does anyone know the capacity of the internal battery?
