Since far from all got their pocket camera. And it started shipping at the end of july. At the 4th of september BM said that they needed 4 more weeks until it they could get production camera into full production.

Is it fair to say that most of us wont have the camera until the beginning of next year?

I think that could be a fair assessment if you wanted to make a relatively safe prediction based on not only the current problem but further problems arising from that one.

BMD set dates based on known problems.

This is something you must bear in mind and of course sods law which frequently crops up.

I think it's very likely that most people won't have the 4k camera before 2014.

I believe before 2014... Because BMD can do it (manufacturing wise) just depends if all the kinks are sorted... I'd Rather have a full working camera then minor calibration issues lie the BMPCC....

I have waited since day one of the announcement for the Productions Camera, I can wait a little longer, since I had to send my Cinema camera in for repair that took about 5 weeks, I don't want to do that again, but rather wait and let BMD get it right before shipping.
