I got several Micro HDMI cable, they all work with the GoPro Hero 3 but will not work with the BMPCC as the Micro HDMI port in the BMCC is too shallow.

Where to find the right type of Micro HDMI cable.

With my review camera, I used a Radio Shack HDMI to MicroHDMI adapter. It really didn't perform well because the micro HDMI port on the camera was, as you observed, too shallow. I was using the HDMI to feed my Zacuto EVF attached on a rail. So by wedging the viewfinder against the cable, I was able to maintain positive contact. I thought at first the problem was due to the stress caused by cable connector+adapter. As I am hearing other reports of shallow miroHDMI port, I believe this is the case. Unfortunately the demo camera had to go back to BMD so I can't test cables again until whenever I get my own camera.

I got two cables from TAI Audio, they work fine with the BMPCC, wich has a "short" connection, but the cables made contact with both camera and my Zacuto EVF.

I sanded down the micro HDMI and now it works with my smallHD DP4. But sometimes bad contact occur.

May be BMD should have included a micro HDMI cable with the camera.
