Should I cancel my BMPCC pre-order?

PostMon Sep 16, 2013 8:45 pm

Ordered a bunch of cams via B&H on April 9th. Still no cams, no word on when I will receive them. I am holding on to thousands of dollars that I could spend on other things, waiting for the day that B&H receives the cams from BMD and ships them to me. Could be tomorrow... could be next year. Neither BMD or B&H have supplied any info that gives me any CLUE (aside from the fact that B&H has expressed that they don't have any idea either). Should I just cancel my pre-order? I can buy another GH3, some nice primes... and wait for a more competent competitor to release a comparable camera...

If you ordered a bunch; why not just cancel some of them if you want to free up some capital?

Also a lot of what to get will depend on you and your markets needs.

Put the pressure on these people, they are responsible for worldwide distribution.

I think that everyone should definitely cancel their preorder immediately. So I will get my cam sooner :)

Today i phoned around the main UK distributors looking for info on BMPCC.
They all laughed at me, and all said that they had no info when the stock was going to arrive, and that they just turn up without warning.
Im currently no 200 on a waiting list at CVP, and the guy said not to expect to see it this year.
Other place has waiting lists of 50-100.
Not good business...shame really as they have great products.

No, I wouldn't cancel. Not unless you've decided you don't want them. The thought has crossed my mind though, and I only have one 4k camera on order. I just paid quarterly taxes and still have enough set aside for the 4k when it ships so its money well saved in my opinion.
