So I've been using Rokinon lenses since I originally purchased a 6d when that was released. There were a ton of black Friday sales on Amazon for those lenses so I picked them up for a steal. (hint to watch amazon) I knew that rokinon had a 14mm lens that I had and sold... was not super happy with it as I was the 35mm and the 85mm lenses. I just got my BMCC 2 weeks ago and was shopping for new wide lenses and came across the Rokinon 16mm. I did research and could only find very light reviews, but decided to pull the trigger. Glad I did, its a great lens for a low cost. So far I've been sticking to primes and if I can find a good 8 mm(not rokinon) or 10 mm prime that doesn't have dramatic warping... that will be the next lens purchase. Just want to clear the way for people to get this lens.

Here is a timelapse shot with it. Im not amazing at color grading so there's that.

Michael,

Nice time lapse, I have the rokinon 85,35,34 cine set and I was thinking about the 14 or the 16. Can you tell me why you didn't like the 14?

Thanks ! :ugeek:

I didn't like the distortion in the 14mm and sent it back.

I have the 16mm and like it a lot. Never notice any distortion.

Yea the barrel distortion was no Bueno. I was using it on a full frame camera and sold it. I kicked myself when I got the BMCC. the 16mm seems like a small difference but they only did the 16mm because its better then the 14. Substantially. If they would make 10mm that has no distortion or significantly better then 8mm I would get that too.
