BMPCC Large Capacity Batteries

PostWed Nov 13, 2013 8:44 am

Hi all.

I am planning to grab a generic battery thats higher capacity for the BMPCC. Specifically this one:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EN-EL20-ENEL ... 1ea&_uhb=1

Does anyone know if this will be compatible? I noticed that the BMC Batteries are 5.92Wh and the one above is 13.32Wh. I don't really know what that means. Would that a cause any issues with the camera?

I have purchased 4 of that exact model.

Oddly enough I get 2 or 3 extra minutes out of the BMD original.

But hey, at that price....

That's because the print on the battery is a blunt lie. There just isn't enough space inside the enel20 cartridge to stuff more than 1200 mAh into it, at least not with todays LIon cells.

Measuring the amount of energy stored inside a battery in mAh or Wh is only a rough estimate, because the battery itself consumes energy while charging and discharging due to its own inner resistance.
