Everything out of stock

PostTue Nov 26, 2013 4:54 pm

I've been ready to buy a BMPCC for the last few weeks, but the lenses and other things I want to use with it have been out of stock for quite a while. For example, the Sigma 18-35 1.8 lens that everyone raves about is only available on Ebay from a Chinese supplier- so, ya... no thanks.

Do you think this is because a lot of this stuff is in high demand, or are they just holding it back for "Black Friday" or something?

The Sigma seems to be in stock on Amazon UK:
Canon: http://amzn.to/1iPiFb3
Nikon: http://amzn.to/1aRmauh

And on Amazon.com:
Canon: http://amzn.to/17VURQt
Nikon: http://amzn.to/18ECuOL

Warehouse Express in the UK also have stock of both:

Well that's interesting. I looked yesterday and couldn't find anything on Amazon. I noticed the price has gone up $100. :(

Thanks for the links.

The price of 47th st photo on amazon seems to fluctuate. Some days it's 799, then 869 or 899. If you call them direct they'll probably do it for 799 seeing as they won't need to give amazon a cut. Thats what I did.

Yesterday, I looked at about 10 online resellers and they were all out of Sigma 18-35: Adorama and BH in the US and Vistek, Henrys and a few others in Canada.

Somewhat in despair, I called my local store in Québec City. Gosselin is the biggest retailer in Eastern Canada; in business for 75 years. I got my Sigma 18-35 F1.8 Art this morning. Just waiting now for my Metabones SpeedBooster ordered yesterday from Adorama (in stock).

Out of curiosity, I asked and they have 3 more in stock (Nikon mount). If interested, you can go to their web site (gosselinphoto.ca) and order there. But, if your French is not good enough to find your way around, you can check the phone number on their website (418-656-6309) and ask for Jean-Christophe. He'll be able to help you.

Now, I just need to wait, wait, wait....

Well, that's the way we feel about the Pocket cam over here in Europe - only it's even worse. But Sigma 18-35 are not an issue here, the lens is listed in stock in most online shops, starting at about €700 (Nikon mount).
