Would you welcome seeing/hearing from Mr. Grant Petty again?

PostFri Oct 12, 2012 4:57 pm

I'd love to hear from Mr. Grant Petty again. His statements about his company and the Blackmagic Cinema Camera are always welcome.

I miss hearing from Mr. Petty. Sincerely, I do.

If you'd like to hear from Mr. Petty again, please reply, and post polite questions you'd like him to respond to. I repeat: Polite questions.

Here's my first question:

- Would BMD commit to posting weekly BMCC status reports, starting immediately? Do you agree that keeping customers and dealers "in the loop" is a good idea?

Cheers.

P.S.: Below are examples of previous statements from Mr. Petty. I remember very much enjoying watching/reading these when they were first published. That's why I welcome an opportunity to hear more. Much more.

P.S.: I hope BMD won't ask me to remove the above links. They are essentially BMD press releases. Thank you.

P.P.S.: Of course, more than anything I'd like to receive the fully-functional BMCC-EF that I pre-ordered in mid-April ASAP, but in the meantime, a "letter from home", as it were, would be most welcome. Again, cheers!

Would they like to share information on any additional BMCC firmware updates (or things they're currently working on) or any planned updates to Davinci Resolve?

Just anything... a tiny morsel for the starving if you will. ;)

I love to see some weekly update status, Grant's or from anyone else. I Also love to see monthly Blog post with more in deep(something like JB) about the BMC, or Resolve(video blogs also allowed).

I would like nothing more - except perhaps for receiving an actual camera ;)

My question would be, will I be able to enjoy this kind of creativity anytime soon?

I was just told by a Markertek Video Supply salesman, that they have an recent email from Blackmagic that says Markertek Video Supply will get the next USA shipment of cameras, and they expect to fill a hundred or more existing orders from this incoming shipment with in the next two to three weeks.

He told me, that I'd be waiting for some time if I wanted either version because most dealers have 100's of pre orders.

I fear that nothing will happen, though.

They seem to wholly ignore any requests for information. The longer it takes the more I grow tired of having to deal with the company. I just want my unit so I can get on with things.

Just to bring this thread up-to-date, as everyone knows, today we heard again from Mr. Petty. Thanks for posting, Grant. I appreciate it! See:
viewtopic.php?p=9489&sid=e923a9fb66918d62f4cabfdbaf18ec1f#p9489

This is a good start, or to be more accurate, a good continuation. I look forward to further updates from BMD, including "... more updates mid to late next week ...", as promised by Mr. Petty.

I know all of you will find this surprising, but I'll probably have more to say on this topic later today. Cheers.
