DNG 1.4 support of lossy compression

Is there a plan to support the new flavor of DNG that allows a lossy compression but still seems to preserve a good amount of flexibility? Obviously it won't be as good as the lossless version, but at a 1/3rd of the size it sounds like an interesting compromise in some situations.
